Goodbye International Week...Hello Science Fair!

A very big thank you to all the parents that were able to make it for International Week despite the inclement weather. Your support is always appreciated. This has been a short but eventful week. Now that International Week is complete we'll be dedicating a lot of our time and energy towards the upcoming Science Fair. Students have picked their own group and identified Science experiments that interest them. During the Spring vacation please obtain the materials necessary for your experiment and begin researching your topic by finding 1-2 sources and pasting it on your group's Google document. Please read on to get a glimpse at all we did this week and all we hope to accomplish after Spring Vacation. Please email me at: joshuajoseph.his@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns.

This Week
Writing: Students continued drafting their procedural writing.
Math: Students learn how to add decimals by adding and subtracting money. They also learned how to solve word problems by drawing pictures, writing number sentences, and by finding missing or extra information.
Social Studies: Students learned about other cultures by visiting other classrooms. They also shared Italian culture through cooking, games, art, and trivia.

Next Week:
Reading: Students will continue reading in their Mystery Series shared reading groups.
Writing: Students will create introductions and conclusions for the procedural writing. Then they will begin their final drafts and get ready for our Publishing Party!
